Such a well-written story!
I enjoyed this story so much. More great writing and an expanded cast of characters. The little robots are really beginning to grow on me. I am not sure I want them growing in me, although it is an interesting thought.
If you enjoyed his first book, then you will enjoy this one also. Stewart has wonderfully tight writing, he wastes few words. There is description enough for nice scene-setting and the dialog is funny at times and rather moving at other moments. Some real-life issues are part of the story, without overwhelming it.
I award The Bug Boys vs. Professor Blake Blackhart a score of 5 stars! I loved the story and hope there is more to come.
This is a classic.
When my son was small we would read together every evening. We started with Dr Seuss, then Goosebumps, graduating to Harry Potter, Stephen King, Watership Down and other wonderful books. If Bug Boys vs. Prof. Blackhart had been around 15 years ago, this would have been listed at the top of our favorites stories. They should make it into a movie. It's a funny story written for young adults but has great appeal for old adults.
I would recommend this book for any age. It is a gripping story with great characters. I especially like the little aliens, Alex and Ian, and I think Alex's mom is a riot. Professor Blackhart is a perfect villain with no redeeming characteristics. Spoiler: he gets what he deserves.
Finally, I will never look at bugs the same way!
