Jay cleared his throat and spoke softly to Susan.
In his chat, he told his wife how much he loathed her and hoped she never woke up.
He stood with arms flexed at his side, ready to punch the last bit of life she had inside her frail body to pieces.
"You have no idea how much shame you've caused me with your selfish antics tonight, and here's hoping that if and when you wake up, you accept the hell I have in store for you because if you don't, you're finished. Absolutely done in because I'm fed up with your selfishness and your need to always outshine me. You should be happy I'm doing well so I can afford you the luxury of making rags that no one wants to buy or wear. But you don't appreciate it, do you, Sue? And that has always been the problem with you."
He stopped talking and walked toward the door to see if anyone was outside the room. Satisfied he was finally alone with his wife, he returned and sat down again.
"I'm honestly thinking of having you committed. If not to a mental hospital, then to a treatment program, which will be for at least six to nine months. Hopefully, I can Baker Act you. I certainly have enough evidence to show that you pose a risk to yourself and others, especially after tonight's reckless behavior."
Jay rose and stared at his wife.
As if seeing clearly for the first time in months, all Jay saw was a weight wrapped so tightly around his neck that he thought he might choke from the burden his wife habitually thrust onto his lap.
Tonight, he determined he could no longer carry the excess cargo containing Sue and all her problems.
She needs to start supporting your own burdens, thought Jay.
Overly frustrated and emotionally battered from all the chaos, he clawed at a pillow, hunched over his wife, came down firm, and...

OMG A MUST READ!!! I love a good suspenseful, domestic drama thriller! The Author had me invested straight from the beginning. This is truly a must read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's so realistic and scary. It's so relatable to those of us who have dealt with bad relationships that we wish we got out of sooner.
The story is creepy, but real.

OMG! This book is incredible! I was hooked for days on the story, and I just couldn't put it down. Needless to say, nothing got done in my apartment, and because of that, I was never so relieved to finish a book in my life. However, now I'm upset as I feel like I lost a friend, as the main character, Susan, is really cool. So, I will reread this book as soon as I can put time away. Aside from the compelling storyline, the ESP and the touch of psychic abilities featured by the character who thinks... Well, I can't say without spoiling it. So, I will hush and simply state that I totally enjoyed the read. I also appreciated the preview of chapter one of part two of this story, offered at the end of this book. Though the chapter is spooky with the crazy, narcissistic husband, who totally freaked me out with his double standards and selfishness. I don't want to spoil it, so I will just write that the husband is the biggest dirtbag ever, and I hope I never get married to such a creep because it can happen so easily, as we never know what we're getting until living together, and that's freaky.
A MUST read for any woman thinking about getting married.
The husband's arrogance is sickeningly realistic to most men in Miami. Jay parades around like the world owes him everything, and I mean everything, which made me nauseous. Polar opposite is Susan, who kept me engaged, mainly because, like me, she's a lost soul struggling to better herself, and I too, willingly admits all mistakes and flaws. Though gifted with psychic abilities, she foolishly marries a man who loves himself more. As a resident of Miami, I'd say that the book expertly describes South Florida culture, especially the rich and famous who parade around South Beach like they own the joint. Honestly, you see these people on the streets of Miami every day, and the more you get to know them, the more likely you are to vomit. The book is a fast read with realistic characters who flood the pages with humorous comments that make me laugh. It's generous in details and emotions and makes you feel part of the scene;
I can't wait for the sequel - I'm just hoping Susan toughens up a bit, that's all.
