There was no moon that night which was fortunate because the person carrying the body wanted to remain unseen. However, someone did see a dark shape walking almost bent double under the weight of a garbage bag.
The person stumbled several times but didn’t fall. The park wasn’t far, only three short blocks. Finally the task was accomplished. A suitable bench was found near the park’s entrance, and the scene was set.
The next morning, a Friday, a man found her. He stood staring at the short fat woman lying on the park bench, wrapped in a blanket with her hands folded on her breasts. She appeared asleep, but she wasn’t breathing and was cold to the touch. Lying across the bench at her feet was the bloated body of a dead grey cat. Above her head also lying across the bench was another dead and bloated grey cat.
