From the time humans began to think, they have asked the question, “Why am I here?” Jordan Kaneb spent most of his life seeking the answer until he met Young Andrew, an ancient, mysterious man living in dismal poverty at the edge of the world.
It turns out Young Andrew had the answer Jordan sought – but not the answer Jordan expected. The book reveals how our relationships – to other humans, to all other life, and to the earth itself – have been pre-determined by an actual event that occurred 10,000 years ago.
At age 18, as my schooling ended, I thought a great deal about where my life would lead. Then I began asking the second question: “How am I supposed to live?”
I assumed this answer would elude me as well, so I observed how other people lived, then tried to imitate them.
But imitation didn’t work. While others appeared comfortable living their lives, I felt uncomfortable imitating them.
Then, late one night as I lay in bed pondering my two questions, a voice came from within my head, a voice so foreign I sat up with a start.
Life is a play – and I am an actor performing my part!
“That’s it!” I shouted to the darkness.
I looked around the room as if everyone in my life stood there. “You’re all actors in this play,” I said to them, “every one of you – but I’m the only one who realizes it’s a play!”
I no longer needed sleep. Energy flowed through every pore of my body, so I jumped out of bed. “All these years, you people thought you answered my questions, but you didn’t know the answers yourself!”
I paced my bedroom floor until daylight, then dressed and joined my parents for our morning meal. I couldn’t wait to try out my newfound knowledge.
Mother knelt by the hearth cooking our porridge. Father sat at the table drinking his morning tea.
I thought: This is a play and I have just come on stage!
I stifled an urge to laugh.
“Good morning, son,” my mother said.
I went over to kiss her on the cheek as I did every other morning, but stopped myself.
I’m not going to perform my part in the play this morning!
My mother looked at me curiously. “Is something wrong, Jordan?”
I shook my head and sat down. She went back to stirring the pot, glancing at me every so often.
Mother thinks I’ve forgotten my lines!
I was on to something.

Whether gods or spirits created the universe, they created it for every living being, not just for us.
People need to re-learn why we are here and how we should live. Only then can we begin to correct the mistakes made since our ancestors left the original Garden. Only then can we restore harmony to Sacred Earth. And to our lives.
