Crazy, Mixed up World

Kids are tall

and adults are small

Cats chase dogs

And birds eat like hogs

Jumping peas

Make fleas fall to their knees

Lightning crashes

And thunder flashes.

Ice cream wheezes

And hot chocolate freezes.

Ants go on strike

And bees take a hike.

Worker ants on strike!

Bottles hold onto babies

And corn gets the crazies.

Ha. Ha. Did you hear about the one…..?

Cheese becomes bold

 While shoes grow mould.

Crickets croak

While frogs go broke.

Carrots in cages

Beets collect wages.

Lizards make up rhymes

Dragonflies toe the line.

Skateboards go to class

And bicycles catch a bass.

Bullies turn sissy

And somebody calls Uncle Ted “Missy.”

Teachers go back to school

And kids teach them the Golden Rule.

Centipedes strum

Aardvarks drum.

Honey turns into money

And the principal starts to act funny.

Shoelaces tie themselves

And  washroom passes are delivered by Elves.

Friday comes on Monday

 And Thursday is fun day.

Halloween is December

And Christmas is hard to remember.

Books get read from back to front

Seven feet tall person tall  is called a runt.

Bedtime comes late because we’ve turned off the clock

And when we wake up the next morning we’re ready to rock.

 Bananas look like pears

And apples grow hair.

In this crazy, mixed up world

All the rules get hurled.
