Every home you visit in the valley, folks always tell the same story about the kind gentlemen who kept them fed during the lean times. He knew they probably would never have the means to pay their account with him. One of the old timers in the small but neat community says he really misses the store.
According to him, it was a place to come, visit and most of all play checkers with Emma, the owner's little daughter who happened to be the apple of her father's eye. No one knows for sure the age of the old timer but he has always been in the valley. He recalls that he knew Emma's parents when they were her size and loves to tell any stranger or traveler passing through the story of George & Elizabeth.

I'm going to give your book as birthday gifts to others I know will love them. Just for the month of April there's two friends, my aunt, my sister and my mother. Actually I'm giving this to everyone I know.
This story is a story that just needs to be read and heard. It's comforting family and wholesome and just a real pleasure to find and read.
It's so nice to find a real wholesome book again. Real nice! You need to write more of them ok? Your book left me with such a peaceful nice feeling as I was reading it all the way through.
Not only because it was a very special story and all the nice things and ways life was and should be, but because also it was nice to keep turning the pages and never once have anything that embarrassed me or I felt I had to hide and not tell anyone about your book. Most books have all that crap even if it's one sentence, it to me, ruins the whole book and so I hesitate on telling certain people about the
book I read. Yours, I'll tell my mother and little sister and that there is really nice. I can hand it to a kid and not worry about it. That is so nice. Thank you.

After getting this book, I read it in two evenings. I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. This book is highly recommended for anyone who is tired of the language that is used today, because you won't find anything but good wholesome language used in this book.

A wonderful story set in a much more simple time, The story of "George and Elizabeth" is one that I will read again and I am looking for more of the same. I recommend this story, but only if if you want to be whisked away from your own troubles into this romantic life story of hard times and happy days.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "George and Elizabeth." It was one of those books which is hard to put down once you've started reading. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
