Faces On The Clock is the autobiography of Larry Bauer-Scandin, who for many yeaars was a professional foster parent in Minnesota.
Larry Bauer-Scandin was featured in a front page article in the St. Paul Pioneer Press in 2006. Written by Ruben Rosario, the article examined Larry's many years of service as a foster parent to delinquent and troubled teenagers in Minnesota. It was a tough job, but Larry performed it admirably, prompting Mr. Rosario to conclude: "If a person's true wealth is judged by the positive impact he has had on others, then Bauer-Scandin is Bill Gates filthy rich." This feature led to a November 23, 2006 Thanksgiving Special Report on WCCO TV in Minneapolis which stated in part: "On a day for food, family, and fond memories, Larry Bauer-Scandin is surrounded by his kids - all 130 of them. This amazing man still keeps in touch with foster kids he cared for many years ago. Larry remembers every child he took in, and they remember him, a man for whom Thanksgiving comes so naturally."
CBS News Assignment America's Steve Hartman got ahold of this story and came to visit Larry in St. Paul, MN, and in a feature story which aired on January 5, 2007, Larry Bauer-Scandin was giveen the title "The Father of the Year." Now, 3 years later, Larry has completed his autobiography which has been published by Eagle Entertainment USA.
