Jeffrey L. Lee was born and grew up in Baltimore. He spent large amounts of time in those early years reading poetry, tales and mysteries, and some drawing. His mother, an abstract and portrait painter, provided early English lessons and saw to it that there was always enough paper, paint, pencils, and encouragement. In those days, Mr. Lee wanted only to be a writer, and went on to specialize in poetry and short stories. Somewhere along the line, Jeffrey became infatuated with forming words and phrases that read the same backwards and forwards. He spent endless time reading dictionaries and encyclopedias. Also reading famous people quotes became somewhat of a fetish. Mr. Lee has had many poems published in magazines and anthologies. In addition to his work as an author and poet, Jeffrey also has extensive experience as
A deejay and recording artist for over twenty years
A musician who plays guitar, trumpet, keyboard and blues harmonica.
A storyteller who regularly performs original poems and tales.
A music producer, arranger, and composer of all original music.
A keynote speaker for major crisis (violence) that plaque his community.

Each year, Jeffrey shares his books and his writings/poetry with hundreds of students at dozens of schools across Baltimore. During that same year, Jeffrey typically writes poems and has previously wrote 3 books, conducts 2 poetry workshops, addresses 2 homeless shelters, several local churches, women conferences and visits 3 libraries or hospitals for cancer patients. Also recently appeared on several local radio talk shows.
