King Isiah, A Frog King, narrates stories that are filled with colorful characters. Tales of Adventure, Suspense, Mystery, Humor, Folklore and Fantasy. King Isiah is set somewhere in the south and is a nostalgic look at life when times were simpler. The stories are told by a frog but are about struggles to survive by both animals and humans. Most are told with a humorous tone.

The Stories in King Isiah, A Frog's Tale, were told to me by an old reporter for a major southern magazine, who had kept them to himself for many years. It seems that he had actually conversed with an old Bull Frog King on numerous occasions and the frog had related a series of tales to him, tales of the frog?s life in the pond where he lived and other tales of some very unusual characters, many of them human, who lived in the near vicinity of the King Frog?s pond. The reporter had hesitated about making these stories public fearing that no one would believe them and his well established reputation might become tarnished. When he was very late in life he decided to finally tell them to someone, that someone being myself, with the instruction to publish them only after the reporter?s death. I have kept them as he wished until now. The reporter passed away some time ago and not having any kind of established reputation of my own to uphold I?m now making these tales public. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. The Author

Excerpt

I been the head critter in the pond here for a good long time now. I guess you wonder how an old frog got to be in such a position. Well, I?m gonna tell you ( even if you ain?t wondered, I?m still gonna tell you.) A very long time ago my great grand pa Moses Frog got dropped into ( quite literally) the same position of leadership that I?m in now. You see, he was minding his own business one day, which from what I?ve heard was pretty
unusual itself. Well, this crazy buzzard swooped down from the sky and scooped great grand pa Moses right up and carried him off. He must have thought great grand pa was dead, but he had only been sleeping. Finding himself flying through the sky carried by a crazy buzzard he began to kick and put up a fight like he never had to do before or since for that matter. Well now, that old buzzard didn?t have enough strength to fly and carry
this kicking and fighting frog for long, so, guess what happened. Great grand pa Moses got dropped and he landed right here into this very same pond where I reside today. Only
when he hit the water a little more was involved than just setting up a new residence. When he hit the water he was a little stunned but he came back to his senses just enough and just in time to see the biggest largemouth bass he had ever seen bearing down on him. Being unfamiliar with his surroundings great grand pa Moses just kicked a couple times with his powerful legs and glided through the water and came face to face with the meanest looking female frog he had ever seen. He didn?t know whether to
say something or go back and take on that old bass. Well, before he could do anything the female frog, who by the way would become my great grand ma Abigail frog, said ? you gonna stay here and be dinner for that bass or you gonna follow me and take
cover ? ? well now, great grand pa Moses followed that lady frog into an old hollow log that was too small for that mean old bass to get into. That old bass just kinda lurked around outside that hollow log unitl he got tired or got so hungry he decided to go find an
easier meal.
