Time
(the beginning)
He sits among the children, an older man by the measure of most, but in his heart he is young and in his soul, he is wise beyond his measured years. He gathers them closer as they sit beneath the arms of a favorite tree and he begins to speak.
"Little ones, I wish to speak to you of Time," he begins.
"Time, Sir? What must we know about Time?" asks a wee little sprite sitting near his knee.
The man smiles and pats her head. "There is much to know but most you will not understand yet, and that is how it should be. Time moves as clouds do. Sometimes it drifts slowly as does the wispy clouds of a gentle day. And then there are those moments when it races by as do the bold clouds of a stormy afternoon. When we are young we are as impatient as those bold clouds but as the years come and go we are content to drift with the wisps and let time be as it must."
