Harlem Renaissance*
Strolling throughout Harlem
is an irrational kind of feeling
no matter the history the name
always held some magic to me
a Renaissance addiction to its
creative awesome wealth
the jazz scene and its icons
a sort of mystic affinity with the
soul of the writers and the poets
though myself skinned Caucasian
and living in the heart of Europe
it's keeping me in balance on the
edge of separated worlds providing
a unique unity deep inside of me

The Universal Woman
I know Frieda almost ten years.From the first moment I met her I knew that she was
a special woman.Someone who wants to change the world with words and fine poetry, expressed in fine metaphors. Never reluctant to stand up for the weak, reaching a hand to her sisters and brothers, she is the best 'Universal Woman' one can imagine.
The book is her seventh and I believe it to be her best. It consists of three parts.
In 'African footprints on my soul' she honors her black, South-African sisters. Her poems and tribute follow the rhythm of African drums. Sometimes sad, sometimes tender, never neglects the struggle she witnessed from nearby.
Frieda is the living proof that poets can write beautiful words about social matters. And sometimes it strikes me more then an image. Through Frieda's poems words speak as loud as actions.
'Cyber Love Blues' are special, deep love poems where Frieda shares her vulnerability and uncertainties with the reader. The poems are actualy about nothing less then unconditional love (and who doesn't want that?!)
'New York Impressions' is about her 'sisterhood' friendship with Stella Marrs and the impressions she absorbed by visiting her in New York. But it's also about discovering a 'new world'! and the fascination of it.
Frieda is a child of the world and as a
'universal woman' she proofs to be a 'universal poet'.
