library- Soweto- Due to the fincancial support of the North-South Award we received from the Public Library of Sint- Niklaas, my home town in Belgium, the Soweto Connection and I were able to build a mini-library for the neighbourhood children of Zondi 2 Department/ Soweto/ South Africa!
We opened officially the 17th of October with about 150 books, not only in English but in the childrens mothertongue which is Zulu, Xhosa and Sesotho!
My stay over of 5 weeks in Soweto itself (the house of Bishop Tutu was just around the corner) was a wonderful experience! So after all the hard work of everybody concerned we can look back at a very rewarding year 2009! Hope we will be able to continue the good work in 2010!
