American Mole: The Cartel is the second book in the American Mole trilogy. Jason Forsythe has completed his first mission as John Jacob (JJ) Olson and escaped to Central America to leave behind the horror of working for the cult of Pius One, founder of The Vespers.

Jason is seeking out an old friend, Randy Cunningham in Costa Rica, but has an adventure in the Yucatán along the way. On his way to find Randy he has a brief encounter with a beautiful Rose Hernandez only to be faced with her untimely death by volcano.

After some searching, Jason finds Randy and decides that he would like to settle in this small Caribbean seaside community, intrigued by a mysterious, cursed Dead Man’s Island, just offshore. Learning that the island is for sale, also learns that it is going up for auction. He takes a crash course in conversational Spanish in Guatemala only to experience, once again, the danger posed by all the volcanoes on the Pacific Rim.

Returning to Costa Rica, Jason places the highest bid on the island and gets it, only to find that there are a lot of strings attached.  The notorious leader of the cartel gang ES 17, Ignacio (Iggy) Sanchez had built the Island and then set Jason up to be his point man in Iggy’s plot to have his sons become president of the United States like the Kennedys.

Jason finds a castaway on the island, Lovely Harper, who has escaped enslavement by ES 17. Mutually attracted, Lovely becomes Jason’s partner in every way. They are sent on many missions to launder money in the Cayman Islands and other locations and donate money lavishly on behalf of Iggy’s oldest son, Antonio (Tony) Sanchez, rising rapidly through political office.

With the help of a political blogger and his sources, Tony’s carefully planned campaign begins to unravel, and the discovery of Lovely’s sisters, Hope and Angel, held captive as sex slaves for the rich and famous, cuts at the heart of Iggy’s empire. Chapter 1

Escape to Paradise

In the eighth year of his service

Jason Forsythe, a.k.a., JJ Olson, had just left a beautiful woman, Lexis, a.k.a., Amber Handley, behind on another airplane, while he took this stupid flight to Cancún. Why? Jason didn't really know. He only knew that he had to get away and take some time off after what he had been through. It's at times like this that young men make stupid mistakes like the one he was making. There was absolutely no reason why he was going to Cancún, or to Costa Rica, for that matter. Jason was tired, and that was probably why he was on this plane going to nowhere in particular. Denying his service to his country. No longer on assignment. Breaking the code.

Jason had treated himself to first class. He ordered a filet mignon and a pair of dry martinis, straight up, with olives. While he ate, Jason thought of where he'd been these last seven years. How the bombing of Washington DC had changed his life from that naive high school student with aspirations for college into someone who had willingly gone underground in service to his country, hardened by events. Jason thought of his parents, both killed in the blast and his sister, Gayle, also dead. Why had Jason followed his Uncle Jim into the service of his country instead of staying behind and protecting his grandmother, Gail, by now 89 and maybe frail and in need of his help or, maybe, already dead, before he would get to see her again? Jason longed to pick up the plane phone and give her a call, but he couldn't. Such was the nature of his cover—an anonymous American named JJ Olson with a bogus passport and access to everywhere and nowhere in particular to go except to seek out and destroy any entity bent on terrorism and destruction. What was it like back at his high school home in Reston? Was it still there? Was Shauna still there? Why was he thinking of her now? Jason didn't know. Perhaps it was the way she felt, the way it felt to have sex with so much emotion, his first and her first. Guess he would always remember that for its intensity.

In spite of these thoughts spinning through his head, Jason soon grew groggy and fell asleep. The next thing he heard was the phony electronic bell and “Please fasten your seatbelts, we are approaching Cancún. Please put your seat in an upright position and lock the tray in place on the back of the seat in front of you.” That loudspeaker would wake the dead.

The plane landed in Cancún without incident. That couldn't be said for planes around the world. Since the blast had destabilized the most powerful country in the world, there had been much turmoil over the succeeding years as the United States of America tried to heal. Phyllis Knox, the surviving vice president at the time of the blast, had valiantly brought the country back together and initiated elections so that the Congress and Supreme Court could be reestablished. However, fear over the potential for the same kind of thing to happen again in other places in the United States caused people to go into a kind of survival mentality that made it difficult for commerce to continue as it always had, freely guaranteed by the Constitution and law. These same freedoms enabled people to spin off cults like The Vespers that became rampant throughout the country and the world. Without the stability of the United States to intervene, many countries had troubles of their own and anarchy grew plentifully in the vacuum. Planes were hijacked or shot down all the time. People still traveled by air. Life had to go on.

Security had become so tight everywhere that retinal eye scans became the norm and everyone had to have papers in order (a good passport) when boarding any form of public transportation and at routine traffic stops conducted all over most countries. The United States of America had become like one of the Cold War Soviet satellites, checkpoints everywhere. Somehow, Jason as his alter ego, JJ Olson, passed through these checks with almost no resistance, courtesy his service to Uncle Sam. Such was the case now, as Jason, his carry-on bag, and his checked suitcase, breezed through customs and immigration on his way to the inviting beach beyond.

“Your passport please,” the uniformed Mexican official asked. Jason pulled his passport from his carry-on bag and handed it to the official. “How long are you planning to spend in Mexico, Señor Olson?"

“I don't know?’’

“Yes, I see. According to your clearance, you can stay as long as you like—and I hope you do stay long. Welcome to Mexico.”

“Thank you. I'm looking forward to my stay here.” Jason smiled politely.

Jason shouldered his suitcase on his right and his carry-on bag on the left and walked out of the airport into warm humid air he hadn't felt since Cutaway Key, and a line of cabs waiting to give him a ride to one of the beach hotels. Jason hadn't planned ahead so he followed the airport cab monitor's direction to the lead cab where he found a smiling mustached miniature man with a dark complexion and perfect teeth with a name tag that read, “José,” eagerly opening the trunk before he got there.

His bags loaded, Jason jumped in the front seat, and José drove off. “Where to?” José asked with a thick Mexican accent.

“I was thinking of one of the beach hotels—the Intercontinental?” Jason didn't have a clue what hotel to go to but he didn't want to appear like he was a novice in the hands of an experienced cab driver. After all, except for his training in Canada, this was the first time he'd ever been to a foreign country.

“First time in Cancún?”

Jason should've seen it coming. José had him over a barrel. He had to confess. “Okay, José, you're right. This is my first time here and I would like it to be a memorable experience. What do you suggest?”

“I suggest the Playa Del Cancún, the best hotel in all of Cancún—survives hurricanes very well. There, you will find everything your heart desires, good food, music, gambling, fine ladies from all over the world, and, I might add, some of the best little Mexican honeys that money can buy. You single? I guarantee you a good time.”

“Okay. If you've got all afternoon, I'd like you to give me a tour of this place before you take me to the hotel. I'd like to get the lay of the land and I know you know that much better than I do. What do you say?’

“It will cost you many pesos, Señor. Or, I will take US dollars. $150. Is that too much?”

“That will be fine. I'm looking forward to the tour.”

José drove Jason from one end of Cancún and the Mexican Riviera to the other and described every important building and tourist attraction along the way. Jason committed all to memory so that if he ever came by any of these places he'd know where he was. The most interesting part of their drive was to the nearby Mayan ruins that Jason had heard so much about when he was in school and not heard much about since.

It was getting dark when they arrived at the hotel. Jason thanked José for his tour and information. He got José's card just in case he might take him up on the Mexican lady offer.

Jason didn't have a reservation, but a little cash got him a suite on the top floor. When he arrived at Room 1720 Jason was very pleased with José's choice and spent some time on the balcony just looking out at all the lights down the Mexican Riviera and the Caribbean Sea lapping at the shore below. Lights followed the shoreline as far as he could see, and he could see the shimmering lights of Cozumel in the distance. There was a lot of activity going on below with the sounds of music, laughing people, and honking horns floating up. All beckoning him to join in the fun. Jason took a shower and looked for some casual clothes to wear. He had none, so settled for jeans and a polo shirt. Tomorrow, he would shop for appropriate clothes for the tropics. Jason dressed and headed downstairs.

At the Cancún Club in the hotel, Jason ordered stuffed shrimp and the waiter suggested frozen margarita while he surveyed the scene—mostly young couples and singles looking for a good time like he was. Jason saw a thirtyish redhead eating alone over in the corner and decided that he would introduce himself.

Jason didn't give her time to react as he moved in swiftly while she was looking the other way. “Hi, I noticed that you are eating alone. I'm alone here, too, and would like to buy you desert… if I may.”
The woman turned her gaze from the fish she had been eating to flash long, long false eyelashes at Jason. “Why yes, that would be lovely. Please, please join me.” Her voice was rather deep and throaty, like she smoked too much.

There was something strange about this woman that Jason couldn't put his finger on just yet. She had a very pleasant face with a bit too much makeup and hair too red to be real. Jason sat down next to her and waved his hand to attract attention of a waiter.

“What's your name?”

“Queenie.”

Jason's suspicions continue to rise. “That's a strange name, almost archaic. I'm John Jacob, but I go by JJ. Where did you get that name?”

“Oh, it's a nickname. I always wanted to be a queen since I was a little girl and the name just stuck.”

Noticing that Queenie had almost finished her fish and was nursing a drink, Jason offered, “What would you like for dessert? I think I'm going to try some of that chocolate mousse.”

“No, I think I'll skip dessert. I would take another drink, though.” She reached into her purse and pulled out a silver cigarette case decorated with turquoise and a matching lighter. Queenie opened the case, and lifted a cigarette to her lips. “And I would also like a light, if you wouldn't mind.”

The last thing that JJ wanted to be around was a smoking broad. But, trying to be polite, he obliged her. There was no flair in the way he flipped the wheel three times to get the wick lit, or, as he watched her drawing deeply on the cigarette with him holding the flame to its tip. As if sucking on a cigarette with volumes of smoke coming out of nostrils and cheeks was somehow sexy. Finally, the agony was over and he put the lighter down. The waiter was coming to the table, so he had no choice but to order. Jason ordered a chocolate mousse for himself and another frozen margarita as well as another one of, “Whatever she's drinking.”

After the waiter left, Queenie leaned back in her padded booth seat in her padded bra, savoring her cigarette and showing off her cleavage in a subtle, seductive way as her too short skirt inched up her thighs covered in archaic mesh stockings.

Jason got Queenie's point, all too well. By way of conversation, he said. “Excuse me, but I have to visit the men’s room. I'll be right back.”

Jason reached the men's room and entered. Trying to think of a way out. He quickly took a leak and then snuck out of the room making sure that Queenie couldn't see him from where she was sitting. At the bar, he saw his waiter and approached him. “Excuse me. I have to leave. I'm sorry, but I can't go back to the table. How much do I owe you in US dollars?” Jason pulled out his billfold.

The waiter's eyes lit up. “Oh, you don't like Queenie, do you? It takes a special kind of guy. His name is really Jimenez, but he's a shemale, so you know how that goes…”

Suddenly, Jason understood why he didn't feel right around Queenie. He paid for his dinner, the drinks and dessert, and tipped the waiter mightily for his discrete information. Jason slipped out the door and headed upstairs, glad that he had not given that guy/girl any more information. There was no use in leaving the room after that, because Jason didn't want to run into Queenie and have to explain his sudden disappearance. Instead, he ordered a bottle from the bar and spent the evening on the balcony.

For reasons he didn't quite understand, Jason had bought a cheap digital camera at the airport like any other tourist. On the balcony, he was surprised at the zooming ability of the cheap little device and its ability to pick up images even in the nightlight. Becoming somewhat of a voyeur, he spent the evening dropping in, unawares, on beachgoers along the Riviera. Some were lovers and some were ladies. The night was warm and they were all dressed skimpily, or, in the case of the ladies, in the current fashion—topless. Jason took few pictures. It would do him little good to carry a record of his travels if anyone ever wanted to know where he had been. Still, for now, he was just a tourist.

Chapter 2

A Mayan Experience

The next morning, Jason checked out of the Playa Del Cancún and checked into the Mayan Majestic. It was a few blocks down the Riviera from the first hotel and hopefully, far enough away from Queenie's hangouts so that he wouldn't run into her (him?).

After checking out the brochures, Jason decided to take a tour to Xcaret. The bus was only about half full, mostly families. But there were a couple of good-looking chicks that caught Jason's eye. He tried to ignore them. Saying to himself that he was more interested in the ruins than in hooking up for the day.

Jason wasn't disappointed. It was a short bus ride to the Xcaret ruins so Jason was able to spend much of his day there. In spite of what was happening to the United States, the Mexican government had taken control of the trade in Mayan artifacts and had brought many of them back to their original sites. Tourist attractions were relatively safe from what was going on in the rest of the country. Xcaret was quite a learning experience for Jason. He had remembered learning about the Mayan civilization in high school, only eight years before, but now that seemed like a hundred years ago. The Egyptians had flourished for over four thousand years. The Roman Empire lasted a thousand. While the Mayan civilization began about 3000 BC, the classical Mayan civilization lasted only 700 years. The theory was that the population in all the cities grew to the point where it became unsustainable. A change in the weather—a normal occurrence over time—resulted in mass starvation and the breakup of the ruling families that kept the civilization together. While the weather didn't cause the attack on the capital of the United States, Jason noticed, during his time at The Vespers, how the summers had become almost tropical and the winters warmer with heavy snow at times. Beaches like the Mexican Riviera all around the world were spending billions to bring in sand to keep them from eroding as water levels in the oceans rose each year—an expensive undertaking.

What Jason found most interesting was not the half day that he spent reading about the history of the ruin and the Mayan civilization, its connection to the other Mayan sites on the Yucatán Peninsula and the generations of rulers gathered from the glyphs carved on the buildings and artifacts, but the natural world that surrounded the ruin on all sides. While most of the tourist families spent most of the day in water sports, with dolphins near the beach, and with its underground grottoes and beautiful watery lagoons, Jason headed out alone on trails leading into jungle that had been restored two decades before. Before he knew it, Jason came face to face with a jaguar. At first, it startled him to see the magnificent big cat so close up. And then, Jason he realized that the jaguar was in a clever enclosure that allowed freedom for the beast to roam as well as hunt animals that were deliberately put in the enclosure alive for him to capture and eat. After reading the sign, Jason learned that there were seven jaguars in the enclosure, two of them breeding females, part of the Jaguar Restoration Project for South and Central America.

The same was true for Mexican gray wolves, tapirs, ocelot, and giant anteaters. All of these endangered animals had enclosures throughout the planted jungle that had come back in record time. What enthralled Jason the most was the reptile sanctuaries that included everything from the Western diamondback to the fur-de-lance, American alligator to Cuban caiman, Galapagos tortoise to lizards and iguanas of all kinds. The jungle was filled with insects from all over Mexico that were carefully monitored so they did not did not become destructive. Finally, the aviary included exotic birds of all kinds and refugees from the northern winter like hummingbirds by the thousands feasting on the nectar of exotic jungle flowers.

The jungle was filled with monkeys and other wildlife that flocked to areas like this. When undisturbed, the jungle became a cacophony of sound. When disturbed, quiet. Jason loved every minute of it and time passed quickly. Every once in a while, he caught a glimpse of a beautiful brunette, who, like him, had gone off into the jungle alone seeking out its secrets, and perhaps, a meeting with Prince Charming. There was a fake stone archway ahead, and Jason quickly passed through it. He positioned himself to the sunward side of the archway, pulled out his trusty touristy camera that he had used to take many long and some very close-up shots of fauna and flora, and waited.

As the young woman emerged from the archway, Jason yelled, “Smile!” And she turned, just in time for him to get off a picture of her being caught pleasantly off guard with a big smile on her face. Jason quickly ran over to where she was standing to show her the picture. While she was looking at the picture, he asked, “Weren't you on the bus with me this morning?"

“Why yes," the beauty replied. "I was with my sister, Susan. But all she wanted to do was hang out at the water park and add to her tan. I was more interested in the beautiful wildlife here in the jungle. As I was walking along, I saw you up ahead. I was trying to get up enough courage to catch up with you so I wouldn't have to walk alone when you surprised me.” She put on the look of a lost kitten longing to be picked up.

“I'm JJ Olson, at your service. I was enjoying myself and taking pictures all alone, but I don't mind sharing my thoughts with you for the rest of the day if you don't mind hanging around with a sweaty, thirsty guy.”

I'm Sherry Jacoby from Atlanta. My sister and I are both working stiffs. It took years for us to save up enough money to come down here to Cancún for a week. Don't you know you can get dehydrated in this heat?” She pulled out an aluminum bottle of water from her pack to share with Jason. Plastic bottles were banned years before. Mexican laws were very strict about littering. If caught, one could get prison time. As they both drank directly from the bottle, Jason wondered if it was like swapping spit.

Soon, the couple was sharing the delight of seeing a howler monkey in the trees or spotting a particularly beautiful butterfly or hummingbird sampling the gorgeous flowers blooming everywhere. If there was ever a Garden of Eden, this was it. Sherry especially liked the idea of having all the dangerous critters in protected sanctuaries so they wouldn't jump out at you on the trails. On the other hand, a tortoise or errant iguana or armadillo was most welcome to block the way. The couple shared notes and pictures, laughed a lot, and, before long, discovered that they had come close to missing the last bus back to Cancún. They ran through the trails and would've gotten lost if there weren't many signs showing the way out. When they got to the bus stop, Jason and Sherry met with a very tired and angry Suze who had a serious sunburn from over doing it at the water park and was feeling very uncomfortable in her skin. Sherry reached in her handy backpack and retrieved some oil that which she rubbed on the worst burned areas as they rode back to Cancún. Jason offered to take them out to dinner, but Susan adamantly declined, complaining, “My stomach is too upset to eat anything now.” She was probably dehydrated.

Jason accompanied the girls back to their hotel and walked them to their room. It was a cheap room with no view, two blocks from the beach. When Sherry told Susan that she needed more liquid to overcome the dehydration she was experiencing, Jason offered to go out and find some soup for her. Luckily, he found a Chinese restaurant within a block of the hotel and brought back some noodles, soup, and Chinese tea. Sherry forced Suze to drink some tea and eat some of the soup. Before long, Suze was sampling the noodles and feeling much better. After a shower and a little more oil, applied by Sherry, Suze began to feel sleepy and asked if it was okay if they minded if she went to bed. As soon as Suze was asleep, Sherry wrote her a note, and Jason and Sherry headed out into the night.

Jason hadn't really checked out his room, once again on the top floor of the Majestic. To Sherry's delight, the room was more like a suite. After finding a cool drink in the fridge for Sherry, they both went out on the balcony to view the sights. Jason showed Sherry how he could use the zoom on the camera to spy on people. Soon they were both laughing their heads off as Sherry made remarks about, “Look at that behind! What an awful shade of green! I wouldn't be caught dead with him! Now, that sure is girls gone wild!” It wasn't long before they were kissing. Sherry's body felt so good in his hands. But they were both so hungry that the fooling around stopped and Jason suggested they take in the restaurant in the hotel, located on the same floor.

How strange it felt to be eating dinner with a beautiful young lady from Atlanta on a tropical evening overlooking the Mexican Riviera with mariachi music in the background. They stuffed themselves and drank too much, laughing and talking about nothing in particular. They left the restaurant holding each other up. Jason realized that he had drunk too much when he got to the hotel room door and had great difficulty using the electronic key. Finally, Sherry had to do it. When they got inside, they both headed straight for the bathroom. Jason waited impatiently outside the open door for Sherry and then lunged past her as she was pulling up her panties, nearly missing the toilet as he peed right in front of her. The lady and gentlemen were gone as they both crawled off to the king-size bed and found a corner to curl up in.

Jason awoke to Sherry yelling, “Oh my God! Oh my God! What will Susan think?” She rushed off into the bathroom and slammed the door. Jason ached all over from sleeping in the same position all night, and he also had to pee… badly. When he got to the bathroom door, Jason heard the shower running. Jason knocked gently on the door but got no answer. She probably couldn't hear him with the shower on. So, he gently opened the door and slipped in. While he was relieving himself, Jason couldn't help but take a peek at Sherry showering behind the semi transparent glass enclosure. She acted like he wasn't there, but seemed to give the impression that he was welcome to join her.

Jason carefully slipped out of those sweaty, stinking clothes that he had worn since the day before and approached the shower door. Sherry opened it for him. It wasn't long before she was soaping him from head to toe and getting a reaction that they both liked. It'd been a long time since Jason had brought a woman to orgasm, but it is something you don't forget. After that, they tried out the bed until Jason couldn't come any more. As predicted, the girl had gone wild on her spring break.

They both quickly dressed, Sherry, in her old clothes from the day before, and Jason in a shirt and shorts that he had bought the day before in the hotel store. They practically ran to the hotel where the girls' room was, hoping for the best. They did not find what they were hoping for.

Suze was furious. “How dare you leave me here alone! I couldn't sleep all night! Between my burning skin and my fear that you were being raped somewhere made me want to scream! But I knew if I screamed, someone strange would come and take advantage of me. I couldn't call the police because they are Mexican and wouldn't understand me. Don't you care at all for your sister? Look at you, all showered with your hair combed up beautifully. What did you do, have sex all night? Don't you know that I like to have fun, too! You have all the fun. I never have any!” Suze was sobbing uncontrollably at this point, her rant finally over.

Jason froze in place. He was not equipped to handle a tirade like that. All he could do was the manly thing and stand by to help. Fortunately, Sherry was there to step in.

Sherry came to her sister's side and hugged her. Seeing that her sister's sunburn had turned a bit overnight and was starting to look like the tan it would become, she reached for the lotion and began to rub it on the places that were most burned the day before. The lotion and the massage had a soothing effect on Susan's demeanor and soon she was relaxed and enjoying her sister's attention. She opened her eyes, and with one hand beckoned Jason to join them on that side of the bed. She took his hand and held it for a while until she moved it to her breast where the only thing that covered her was her thin nightie, just transparent enough to see through.

Jason balked. He tried to pull his hand away, but Suze only grabbed it tighter and pulled it back to her breast. Her breast felt soft and good under his hand but Jason felt a burning in his ears that told him that he needed to say something even if he didn't know what to say. He kept looking at Sherry, but Sherry seemed consumed with rubbing oil on Suze's thighs-– rather high on her thighs. Jason uttered. “Susan, I shouldn't be doing this. After all, you are sisters. I know what you want, but I can't do it. You are sisters!”

Sherry, without looking up, seemed about to go down on her sister, while rubbing ever closer to Suze's panties, responded to his plea. “Oh, JJ. I'm sorry that I lied to you yesterday. Susan is my sister, like in soul mate, you know, we've been friends so long that we are like sisters. In fact, we are more than that. But don't worry, sweetie, we are both bi and like it that way. Besides, it's good protection. It's easier to ward off guys you don't like if they think you're traveling with your sister. So stop your worrying and give me a hand, poor Suze has been neglected and she wants us to fix that.” With that, she was licking Suze's clit through her panties and couldn't say any more.

With a swipe of her other hand, Susan silently pulled her nightie top down, revealing the transparent whiteness of her breasts against the dark line of her burn at the bikini line. Her pink nipples were erect and hoping for his touch as she pulled his hand down again firmly onto her right breast until he began moving his fingers in the way she desired. It wasn't hard for Jason to use both hands and find her lips as he began to kiss her softly and she responded with harder and harder bites and kisses as Sherry brought her to multiple orgasms. Finally, Jason felt that he had to unload and both girls helped him.

They all ended up back in the shower, sudsy and laughing. The only question was: what would they do next? Jason already had an idea. He broached it while they dressed.

“Girls, there's no reason for you to stay in this dive. I plan to tour the Yucatán Peninsula and my place will be free the whole time. You can ditch this place and stay in mine and watch it for me while I'm gone.”

This got Sherry's ire up. “What do you mean that you want to tour the peninsula by yourself. Do you think you can just fuck us and leave us? Didn't you think that I’d want to go along? Well, I do. What do you say to that?"

Reviews for "American Mole: The Cartel"

Travis McGee, of John D. MacDonald’s best-selling series, used to be my favorite character to read. Now, Jason Forsythe (a.k.a. JJ Olson) of Ronald Hull’s “American Mole” series is my favorite. I hadn’t pulled an all-nighter in quite some time for any reason—until now. I’m taking a while to recover from the two back-to-back all-nighters I spent reading “The Cartel.” It’s a good thing I had no other commitments during those two days because I couldn’t stop myself—even if I had wanted to.

I struggled with myself while reading “The Cartel” episode of American Mole. Part of me wanted to read faster and faster to learn how JJ fared in his bold endeavor to buy the cursed Dead Man’s Island and in his even more bold efforts to topple the notoriously evil Sanchez family. Another part of me braked to linger in JJ’s heart-thumping adventures and hearteningly torrid romances.

Whether it was exploring Dead Man’s Island off the coast of Costa Rica, or delivering obscene amounts of cash to the bank at Grand Cayman Island, or leveraging the power-brokers in New Washington, or hobnobbing with the extravagantly rich of Wall Street, I was there amidst the impeccably illustrated details.

Dr. Hull’s suspense-filled, realistic story-telling is masterful. I will be eagerly anticipating my next adventure with Jason.

Ron, your work is stunning, fluid, and continually engaging. I plan to order this book (keep investigating your site, as my eyesight permits). One question. Is the font of "American Mole" easy or hard to read? Severe glaucoma and dry-eye syndrome aren't friends with avid readers. I prefer hardbound copies, but I can blow up the font on a Kindle, so I'd like to know which way to go...I am so glad (and grateful) to have come across your work. I also read your "Success" section...was and am... very impressed with your "presence," priorities, and spirit of self-effacement.
