Synchronicity - you know this word. I used to think it just meant coincidence, or the meshing or coming together of two or more related events in a coincidental manner, like finding something you desperately need just sitting on the side of the road. Then one day in Japan, something happened that made me realize that synchronicity involved more - perhaps even a bit of the mysticism that Jung applies to the word. Now I'm not really into all that new-age pseudo science. Quite the opposite. I like to think I'm a realist, where everything has a rational explanation if you just look for it. Even so, a very strange happening on that day led me to do something I don't think I would have done otherwise.
