In what internal organ does true love reside? I began to feel the need to dissect and compare the guts of men to see what makes the rotten ones so awful and the good ones so hard to come by. I could see myself pinning them to paper with little labels, the heart of a liar, a good man's spleen...
Armed only with curiosity, a tape recorder and a list of questions covering love, sex, ,commitment, marriage and family, I set out to interview 1,000 men across the country.
I stopped at 527 interviews. I had laughed and cried with these men - often in the space of a single interview - as I vicariously experienced their joys and victories, and their dreams and nightmares.

The title was hard to pass up. My mind imagined fine bodies every where and one woman. Both clever and appealing. . . The Love Investigator. Looking forward to seeing what you will come up with next.
I've passed this site and this title at least a dozen times, and I'm proud to say I've resisted the temptation to order a copy. Until now.
You see, I was waiting until I could conveniently ditch my First Wife--we've been together about sixty years, now--but I finally realized that absent death it just wasn't going to happen. My only question now is if I have the nerve to put it on display in a bookcase in my office. Maybe, like the kid I am, I'll just use a flashlight and read it at night under the covers.
Of course, on the other hand, I might have to explain to that First Wife what on earth I'm doing under the covers with a flashlight, since she might rant at me, "Don't tell me it's got so small you need a flashlight to find it!"
My only regret is that you stopped so short of your planned interviews. You know, for a long time I daydreamed about being Number 528.
Sure hope the book doesn't come "Collect." Being much smarter than me, my wife holds all the money, you know.
Certainly has to be one of the funniest titles ever, and the contents must keep people completely rolling on the floor and dying from laughter. I'm sure my own version of this in Closet Full of Teddy Bears doesn't quite match up to the number of hilarious situations, but I definitely did my best.

Hi Barbara! This sounds like a book that the "Modern" man should get too. I Have been married more than thirty years and still don't see what my wife saw in me other than I was alot younger lol. This is certainly a unique book and a unique approach to compiling and writing it. I can imagine what a great adventure this was. You must have had many laughs and many disappointments, while taking the opportunity to get to know people--men in general--and likely having a wonderful time overall. I like your daring adventure.
