Susan R. Sweet does it again in her new release "Adrift". This impressive writer pens words of descriptive colorful characters making you feel as if you have known these characters all of your life, their emotions and challenges prick at your heart as you merge with them in this mystery rollercoaster read.
Nichelle, our main character, was found adrift in the ocean with no memory of who she was or how she got there but Doug Manning, the local Sheriff was going to find out, he only hoped he could keep Nichelle alive while he did. The author plays the suspense in this fine novel causing you to peak and letting you glide down, only to peak again. Excellent! Never a dull moment in this read. Just who was Nichelle and why was someone trying to kill her? I had to know!
Ms. Sweet adds just the right sliver of romance in this whirling read, not too spicy but presented in a tender way. I don't like to have to skip a page because love scenes are offensive to me, I didn't have to do this in this fine read. I like that. The author also has a few surprises concerning her characters which only enhances the pleasure of this read. Let me say this, when someone knocked on Nichelle's door at the end of the book I was actually afraid of who it might be. Now that is a good read. All in all a great book for the romantic and the mystery buff,mixed well, stirred gently and poured out into an outstanding finish. One you do not want to miss!
