'The afternoon is mellow while she sits in his study, a glass of Courvoisier in her hand. The smell of musty paper. It is warm, too warm, and she has removed her waistcoat. Through a tall window after filtering through the chestnut tree, a coppery light pours in from the west. She observes the light as it settles from behind, on his shoulders.
