Tara Woods steered her red convertible Chrysler doen Rockville Pike, one of the buiest thorofares, in Rockville, Maryland, leading tothe beltway. Darting and dashing between a Cadillac, a Lincoln and a Lexus, she retrieved her phone from her purse, going against a rule she'd promised herself; never talk on the phone while driving but she dialed her best friend's cell phone number with her right hand and drove like the wind with her left. "Morning, Brigit. I'm stuck in the 4 o'clock traffic." She whisked around the Cadillac, moving as if she owned the road. "I decided to drive instead of taking the metro."
"Girl, you know everybody's getting off work at this hour," Brigit said. "Bad idea."
"I should've called you earlier." She flashed her signal light and zipped into the right lane, minutes before the traffic light changed and slammed on her breaks. She landed smack into the back of a black Porsche."Oh, no!" She drew a deep shuddering breath. "I've hit some man's car. He's getting out. Talk to you later." She threw her phone on the seat and hurried out of her car toward him. The range of her vision ran lightly over his face, taking in the small tanned coloring of his skin, the small mustache and sideburns that were meticulously trimmed and connected to his short beard. She inhaled deeply to clear her head and steady her thundering heart. "Get a grip," She whispered under breath."A twenty-five year, full fledged woman, acting as if she never seen a gorgeous man."
In the predawn hours during a solitary ride on her ranch, Montana Freeborn collides with Seth Phoenix, centaur-turned-man and the embodiment of her psychic visions.
