Al is called out at his wedding and has to go and fight the aliens. He finds out what the aliens are after and still 'they' want to capture the spaceship.
What a time for the phone to beep, right in the beginning of my wedding speech. I looked at Jane, her face said it all. Why! Yes, I knew it well. I grabbed the phone and mumbled the code.
“Al, I hope I haven’t got you at a bad moment?”
“No, I was just giving my wedding speech,”
“Sorry mate, but they are killing us off like flies out here, at sector eighty-two. We have two shooters dead. The S.A.S. boys are trying to defend this old farm house, against six beasts. I am stuck in the middle of it. I just wanted to say goodbye to someone, before I die.”
I could hear the guns firing and the horrific noise of the beasts in the background.
“Oh my God, they have taken three of the men and dismembered them, right in front of us. I think they enjoy the carnage so much,” Sam said, his voice trembling in fear.
I could tell he was loosing it.
“God help us, oh shit, there goes two more. Well, it looks like it’s only a matter of time. Tell them we tried.”
The phone went dead. I was already on the move, without even thinking about it. I grabbed my tie and yanked it off. I threw my suit coat off and ran for the car. Everyone just watched me, as I fled the Royal Perth Yacht Club. Jane followed in her bridal dress, with Jack and Mandy in pursuit.
“What is it that is so important, that you have to leave our wedding?” Jane shouted, as she tried to keep up with me.
“Sam is in trouble, and so are some others. If I don’t go now, it will be too late,” I yelled back, as I reach the car.
Jane arrived, grabbed me and kissed me, full on the lips.
“I love you Al Connor. Go and help Sam and the boys, I can wait.”
I didn’t have time to waste, so I nodded and hopped in the car and high tailed it out of there. The drive was going to take at least thirty minutes to get to sector eighty-two. I hoped that they could hold out until I got there. I raced through the streets, barely missing cars and headed for the main highway. I was moving very fast and had to watch the bends, as the car’s handling was on its limits. Fifteen minutes, can seem like an eternity. I checked the gun, making sure I had two spare clips of bullets on me, and one in the gun. Thirty shots against six beasts should be enough, I hoped. I finally reached the area and saw the vans and cars spread out across the road. I heard shots being fired and looked in that direction. On my left I saw a field covered in bodies and three beasts ravaging around them. I saw the farm house and watched the flashes, then heard the gun fire. Where were the other three beasts? The phone beeped and I grabbed it out of my pocket and stopped the car.
“Yeah,” I said.
“Please tell me it’s you out there?” Sam said, with hope in his voice.
“Yeah the groom’s arrived. So where’s the party?”
“There are six of them, so be careful. They are the larger species.”
“How are you mob holding up?”
“We are down to five men and me. We have got a Mexican standoff at the moment. They can’t get in through the doorway properly and thank God, the brickwork is helping us,” Sam said, his voice trembling.
“I think they have spotted the groom. I better go and greet my guests,” I said, watching the three beasts turn towards my direction. “Where are the other three beasts?” I said, still watching the three beasts.
