I am still looking for an agent for this work. I have got a complete first draft done (as well as the first six of twenty-six shorts to kind of go with Book 2). I plan to be entering this book in the "James Jones First Novel Fellowship" contest. The deadline is March 1st and will update you as soon as winners are announced (unless I lose and then I'll probably sulk for a while before I update you all).
The Demonhunter travels across a world that has moved on quiet a bit from the one she was born into. The landscape has changed, plants and animals have adapted odd behaviors and temperments, Servants of the Darklord have been hard at work and stupid humes are always getting in trouble. That last at least hadn't changed. Humes could always be counted on to get into trouble. She has little compasion for the humes, but it is her job to answer their calls for help. To turn her back on the call would be death, or even damnation. Death she could almost deal with, may even welcome, but damnation was best avoided. So, she answers the calls. When she feels herself pulled in one direction or another, she goes. Always, there is a hume (or group of them) in need of her services. If she had been warned that this mission would be different - in so many ways - maybe she could have prepared herself. Then again, maybe not.
