Inspired by true events and stories passed down from his father, D.A. Chadwick's The Chimera Project is a most interesting read. Hunter Brodie gave new meaning to "down-on-your-luck". He was dealing with it all: a college dropout, divorcee, child support, overdue car payments, rent and utility bills, a flopped book, and a low paying job that just laid him off --- his plate was definitely full. Just when he is thinking of ending it all, his life executes the perfect "about-face" when he finds and publishes a mysterious, 40-year-old manuscript. The Chimera Project truly begins to take shape when Brodie's overnight success and now peaceful life as a best-selling author is rudely interrupted. Mysterious men in black suits begin appearing everywhere and spying on him!

Written primarily from a 3rd person-narrative stance, D.A. Chadwick delivers a quality body of work. He skillfully moves between two timelines and provides his audience with a smooth-flowing read from start to finish. While character dialogue is rather light and seemingly reserved for key moments of the story, character development is displayed well with the protagonist. Touching multiple genres within the story to include science fiction, suspense, and mystery, Chadwick has also managed to expand his audience. All the 'i's are dotted, all the 't's are crossed, and his ducks are in a row as he takes the story to great depths and new levels concerning a highly debated and controversial topic --- Roswell, New Mexico.
