If you are a military veteran or know a veteran with a service related medical problem this book needs to be read. For our disabled veterans the Veterans Administration (VA) is bound by law to award monthly (tax free) compensation but they will not automatically give it to you unless you ask for it and that is what this book is all about. There are no guarantees in life, especially fighting with the VA, but this book gives you a chance toward what is rightfully yours – compensation. I followed much of my own advice and now rated 100% so maybe something in here will also help you. This book is my hard learned lessons and facts about the Veterans Administration, their rules, regulations and their people. This book is written in military style (No Bravo Sierra) language that deciphers VA regulation and BS with many added notes, pictures, commentary and sample letters that will give you a heads-up and a head start on your rightful path for your disability compensation.

Before you begin writing letters to the VA get your bearings, know what you are applying for and the limits of compensations. Each illness, each physical and mental problem we have that is connected to the military is ratable at differencing levels depending on severity. You must know what you are asking for in compensation because the VA will not give you something for nothing - promise.
Your body can and does produce about 846 different medical problems areas the VA will address; just a few examples are; Bones, joints, arthritis, amputations, visual acurity, PTSD, nephritis, gynecological, cardiovascular, loss of smell (really), tinnitus, loss of teeth, etc. Each is rated differently. More later on Title 38.
Fighting the VA - an all too sad lament - for far too many of our valiant vets. Thousand and thousands of back-logged claims, today. And as you are well aware, many of these fights are based on monetary factors, or lack of adequate and qualified staffing.
For far too long, many of our leaders have felt that when money was tight, chopping at the good old VA was a great place to begin.
I believe every veteran's needs should be met, and that every American should advocate that every American military veteran receives every benefit that they have earned, and are legally entitled to.
A great place to begin is to advocate that VA finally receives the money and the staffing that they need to get the job done.
