It speaks to the very foundation of surface presentation. On the surface I’d project that all is well and normal. It is not until you look beneath the surface, you see my waters for what they truly are, still, muddy and murky. Waters lacking oxygen, devoid of that which allows it to flow and breathe. In my life this missing ingredient deprived my soul the ability to manifest to its intended existence. Unlike a rambling brook, a majestic lake or a rampaging river, my waters lacked the oxygen needed to be cerulean. As I look back on my past of Iridescent Waters, trying to discern what was real and what was recklessness. I’ve come to discover that much of who I thought to be, wasn’t who I ought to be, never close to who I sought to be. It is not until I’ve almost lived my whole life through, that I’ve come to grips with my past, and forge ahead rejuvenated with the precious oxygen that allows my Iridescent Waters to flourish sparkling and azure. Iridescent Waters is my solo project and sophomore effort. I write poetry because it is therapeutic to me. Poetry affords me the opportunity to express my thoughts without constrictions. I write about those things I believe, and also what I conceive. Poetry allows me to write with reality, induced with fantasy, and unrepentant fallacy. The poetry in “Iridescent Waters” is a visual journey, imagery will be the main focus as you witness a coming of age. Follow along as the comedy, and tragedy that is love perpetuates my struggles with family life and spirituality. This book represents for me a telling look beneath the surface of who I thought myself to be. On the surface all would seem well, until you look beneath to see my waters for what they truly were, still, muddy, and lacking the very oxygen that is needed to exist. It is the oxygen that perpetuates the sparkling nature of water. Without it the waters become stagnant or moribund, devoid of the life. Poetry is the oxygen that allows my waters to breathe and flow. Excerpt "Darkness, illuminating the breadth of me, random thoughts purposely roaming in and out of me. I cannot find the switch to allow the sunrays to bathe me in the aura of love. Nor feel the warmth and compassion of people I meet."

Iridescent Waters, Song Singing My Song is more like the traditional poetry with rhyming that I am more use to and like. Other poem books are more like random thought like in the old time coffee houses. I know there is room for both styles. In Iridescent Waters, Song Singing My Song it shows, wisdom through experience, well thought out beliefs and strong opinions that gave way to real examining. I think many will see the excellence, quality and real depth that the author brings in his poetry. I liked the poem I listed above Ocean, Black and Blue, Day Tripping and Cry Style were my favorites. I love good poetry because of the emotion it brings and this book of Poetry did just that for me. This is the second book this author has Published I would recommend you get both of his works because it will add good poetry to your library. There’s better news author Wesley Allen Mack has another book of poetry coming out soon that makes three books for fans and reader to have his whole collection.
