The player begins commanding a Subron of 6 US Submarines in WW2.
Successful operations will result in promotion, eventually to Admiral commanding all submarine operations in the Pacific Ocean.
In addition to the general rules, many optional rules are included to enrich gameplay experience.

Take command of American submarine operations in the Pacific during World War 2. Simple rules are inspired by the Silent Victory board game (Greg Smith). That game can be used as a base, but these rules expand the concepts.
Silent Victory gives the player command of a single U.S. sub to patrol areas of the Pacific in a hunt for Japanese shipping. The goal is to survive while racking up tonnage sunk, gaining promotions for success.
These rules expand to give the player most boats that sailed during the war. The objective is to get promoted from Commander, commanding a Subron of 6 subs, to Rear Admiral, ComSubPac, Commander Submarine Forces in the Pacific. In addition, attempt to score tonnage, limit loss of subs, and have them in the right place at the right time.
The Japanese war plans and reaction to your operations will challenge you. You lose if they are able to stop American operations and reduce your tonnage. This war might not go as it did historically. There is a chance they will invade Hawaii. There is the chance of a second air attack on Pearl Harbor. The war might end earlier or later than it did.
