Miss Phoebe Finn has lived alone at her house on the outskirts of Ashland for several years, a situation that has been predictably secure for her, but one that has left her buried in her past. When she befriends a homeless man who has been injured and left on her property, he thanks Miss Phoebe with a special gift that changes her life in an unusual way and reminds her that the God she thought had long ago left her is always present, even at the end of the tracks.

'The House at the End of the Tracks' is a children's Christian fictional book, for ages 9-12, but readable for all ages. It is a short story that a young person can read quickly and easily, with a moral that parents will find appropriate. The book is paperback, 48 pages, published by PublishAmerica.com. It can be found on their website as well as Amazon/Borders.com, Barnes and Noble.com and Wal-Mart.com.

Excerpt

If you were to stand at the edge of Ashland and stare down the tracks all the way to the horizon, you would see them run right through the house of Miss Phoebe Finn.
Of course, the tracks didn't really run through the house. It was an optical illusion. A train running through a house would not be at all convenient for anybody concerned. If you got closer to the house, you would notice that the tracks curved behind it, disappearing behind an acre of woods covering Mis Phoebe's backyard. Still, because of the illusion, her house became known as the one at the end of the tracks.
