This is a documentary based on the strife and changing social ethos in the Rock countryside duing the last two decades of the twentieth century. the area to which the story relates is spread over the laterite hilly region embracing the states of West Bengal and Jharkhand in India. Although a work of fiction, the story portrays the trends sweeping through that part of the countryside where the archaic agricultural society was splitting up to give birth to a hybrid and faceless social pattern.

There was greenery all around because the standing crop was yet to ripen. Dew soaked leaves of rice plants sparkled like thousand diamonds. Swarms of large milk white storks descended stately on the fields spreading their black wing tips, displaying long reddish bills and red feet.
