This 80 page, easy-to-read book covers such chapters as Speak Up!, Thank You Notes, Eye Rolling, That's Not Fair, Burping and Other Gaseous Noises, Dormitory Life, Job Interviews, Body Piercing, Driving, Computers, Office Etiquette, Cubicle Manners 101, and Cell Phones (to name a few).
Most children and teens wish adults would give them more freedom, more trust, and generally treat them with more respect. Unfortunately, it usually takes more than twenty years to realize that, for the more part, you get back what you give out.
It took me almost twice that long to realize my words, expressions, behavior, actions, inaction, manners, courtesy (or lack thereof), were responsible for the way I was being treated by others - and sometimes that wasn't really great. How I wish I had practiced being a better person earlier in life. It is so hard to change lifelong bad behavior.
Most adults will notice and respect good manners and courteous behavior in children and teens, especially when there seems to be so little of it these days in people of all ages. Defione yourself now as someone worthy of praise and respect. Make sure you deserve only the best!
Excerpt
While you speak, the [job] interviewer is hearing only their own, private thoughts. Thoughts like, [Your nose ring], "don't boogies get caught on that thing?"
Dress for respect! Boys with the pants down between your fanny and your knees...Evidently you don't have enough in your pants to hold them up.
Do not use your cellphone in a public restroom...You, who don't like to touch the "germy" bathroom door handle, probably have e-coli bacteria on your phone's mouthpiece. Yummy.
