An introspective look at our human condition through self-awareness and analysis. The search for self is the primary focus in this artistic exercise that combines poetry, verse, visual art, humor, and reflections of thought by various famous thinkers throughout human history. It is a unique and entertaining linguistic approach to the self-search phenomenon process.
I wanted to write a book that would have something significant to say about life. A book that looks at our social experience with our fellow humans in a prism that celebrates our humanity; in a scope befitting an exploration of subject matter timely and important in our present realm of existence on earth.
I hope the content of the book, divided into chapters of mind-sets
helps provoke thought as an altruistic catharsis; that will touch others, and encourage the reader to look at life from within the confines of their soul. It starts with studying their own reflection in the mirror.
This book is about the search for self and happiness. I feel such an endeavor could ultimately help a person to better understand first themselves, and then others in their search for identity, purpose, and fulfillment. The search for self is a great act of showing God our love, as we are all his children that he put on earth for a purpose, with their own special gifts and talents.

For me this book is more than a book of poetry. It is my personal exercise of looking in the mirror. I chose poetry as tool to express myself because it helps me to reach into my soul to garner my thoughts and reflections of self. In sharing my personal vision with family, friends, and others - I hope to impact them with the significant ideal of the search for self.
I love the art form of poetry, with its beautiful purpose, magical harmony, and musical rhythmic appeal. I applied my poetry in this book by trying to show my respect for our humanity, which has been blessed with the ultimate instrument of truth – a soul.
In the process of writing “Look in the Mirror”, I have chosen to intersperse famous quotes and verse from some great thinkers of human history; as well as mainstream jokes, artistic drawings, personal comments and reflections. I hope they all work well together to give my book some credence in conveying a universal message to all readers- which their diverse interests and needs can relate to.
