Whispers To The Wind, is a small collection of poetry I put together for myself and family. I've had such positive feedback on my efforts at writing poems, I wanted to share them. I hope you enjoy!
There are few poems I’ve written over the years that have stuck in my head word for word. It could be that I am fond of Judge Me Not because it was one of the first poems I ever wrote. Perhaps, it could also be because I sent it to our local paper, and it was published. I’d later learn, from my sister-in-law, that her boss had clipped the poem from the paper, and posted it in his restaurant, on the bulletin board. At the time, he had no idea who I was, or that my sister-in-law knew me. He only found something to relate to in my words. My first official fan! I was elated and humbled at the same time. To me, it was the highest of honors an unknown poet such as myself could receive. To this day, this poem remains my favorite. It came from a dark place within my life, and somehow seemed to breathe new life into it, all at the same time.
Judge Me Not
Judge me not
'Till you've felt my pain
Tasted my tears
That fell like the rain
Blind are the eyes
That could never see
Beyond the Vessel
To the soul of me
Burdens I've carried
Not always my own
Surviving the darkness
Walking alone
Searching the skies
for a brighter tomorrow
Casting away doubt
Exiling my sorrow
So when you see me
With my head held high
Judge if you must
But no more will I cry
