The dark stranger allowed her to linger with his hands still safely tucked away for longer than she would have thought. When he finally stirred she knew he’d push her back and they could both go on about their business.
“Dammit,” he growled low under his breath and the vibration of his deep tone rumbled through her entire body.
He freed his hands and she prepared to separate from him, but he slipped his arms around her instead and returned her hug as he held her against the length of his body.
Her sweater lifted off her back a few inches and exposed her skin to the cold, but his large hands covered the small of her back protectively as he leaned his head down and softly nuzzled her neck with his cheek.
A wild shiver flew through her body in response to his intimate action and he abruptly released her. Her legs were a little shaky and she nearly stumbled on the sidewalk as he took a few steps back.
Once he saw she’d regained her balance, he nodded behind his dark shades and disappeared into the alley behind them.
