This book wasn’t planned; it “just happened” – and continued to “just happen” over the course of the 10 years that it took to complete all three volumes.
The 20 years of research that preceded this book was originally planned for a weekly newspaper column dealing with “the emerging personal spirituality.” That project was sidetracked while a file cabinet of research material was delayed in transit from California to Southern Mexico, where I now live.
In the meantime, daily meditations were bringing remarkable information – precise, simple instructions on how to communicate with and awaken my Soul.
Although I had not requested the information, it poured into my mind in orderly fashion. One day’s material built on the prior day’s, until I had a cogent, simple set of instructions.
The instructions told me how to reprogram my Ego by reassigning its duties, and how to awaken my Soul to bring its higher consciousness into my everyday life.
After several days of receiving these unbidden daily instructions, I emerged from my meditation with the knowledge that this was what I had to write about, to share with the spiritual seekers of the world. I sat down and sketched out a 16-chapter outline in minutes. I was led through the process, with one thought effortlessly following another. The next day, I wrote Chapter One in 45 minutes, guided all the way.
This flow of information comes, I feel, as a result of a prayer I said each day for 15 years before going to work as a daily newspaper editor in Southern California: “I hold the Presence of Christ within me, and I ask to do Your work on Earth.” As a result, I feel I have been given a sacred responsibility, and I have tried to fulfill that challenge to the best of my ability.
