Strike A Light is a drama with some light comedy about the coal miners strike in England that lasted over a year .
There are two acts , before the strike and after the strike .
The majority of the play is set in the front parlour of an old small terrace house in Durham Town .
The cast of characters are eight with the plot revolving around The Davis Family household .
Pitch Davis is the only son of Bob and Alice .
Bob dies at the start of the play and Pitch than must take on the Fathers role for a while .Then along comes the coal miners strike .
Pitch has a double identity . At home he is the loving son who tends for his innocent Mother while outside he is a hard man and a bully boy for the union .
The drama sheds light on a dark time for the miners and tries to bring a light hearted approach into the hard times many miners went through .

Its now 5 years after the passing of Mr Davis and normality has once agin returned to the Davis family home . Things are going along smooth .
Pitch took a job down in the deep mine regardless of his Mother's wishes .
Alice sits down on a chair and reads from a cook book . She turns on the radio but no sound is heard , she fiddles and twists the tuning knob and finally gives in saying ,
Alice -" I'll have to ask Pitch to fix the talk box again "
Enter Pitch."I'm home Mother, whats for dinner"
Pitch bends down and picks up the plus off the radio and puts it in to the wall socket and switches on the power . Immediatly music blasts out from the reciever .
