Psychic Types
We all have it!
If you think about it, intuition would have been naturally selected for, even among our remotest ancestors. If a hunter could track elusive prey by having an extra "sense" about where it might be hiding, or a gatherer knew where the best berries or nuts grow and have become ripe and ready for picking, they could stave off starvation that much longer, and probably be more healthy and able to bear children that survived longer, too. Those with natural healing abilities would be helping others survive. Eventually, the other folks in their tribe would have noticed and started taking care of people who displayed that kind of extra knowledge and ability. Those people would became too valuable to go hunting and gathering. They may have eventually become shamans, wise women, or medicine men.

Categories of Readings
There are several types of reading situations that you might use. They fall into two broad categories: in-person and remote.
The In-Person Readings
You and the client(s) communicate with one another during the in-person readings. You may perform them in an office, out on the floor of a bookstore or psychic fair, over the phone, or over a webcam using Skype or other visual technology. There are many varieties of in-person readings. We list the most common ones below.
The single one-on-one reading is the most common type of reading, used by almost every type of psychic reader. It involves just the reader and a client, and is the most private type of reading. Some readers prefer this type of reading because they are not distracted by any other person's energy while doing the reading. It has the advantage of offering greater focus and privacy than other readings.
Next are the couples or partnership type of readings. These readings require a bit more skill since you are dealing with two personalities at the same time. Clients you might get in a couples reading include married couples, parent/child, mother/child, father/child, two friends, two business partners, same sex couples, two siblings, two relatives, etc. As a beginning reader, you may find it challenging to keep the energies separate as you are reading, since it is easy to pick up the other person's energy without realizing it.
Sometimes, only one person wants the reading, but wants another person to sit in, for whatever reason. You should set some ground rules as to how you are going to do the reading and what is to be expected during the reading.
To prevent problems later, you must ask the person who requests the reading if it is OK for another person to sit in – no matter what the relationship is between them. It is always the person who is getting the reading who should decide if anyone is in the reading with them. Also you, the reader, should never interfere with the client’s decision about who is going to be there. Sue always tells the one not getting the reading that he or she is not allowed to comment or make any noise. Every so often, one or the other cannot be quiet during the reading. You will have to take firm charge and tell them that if there are any more interruptions, one or both will have to leave, and the reading will be over.
Groups of people, such as families, friends, co-workers, parties, etc., can be a lot of fun, but these situations can be challenging if you are not able to field a lot of questions and give short, to-the-point answers. Groups should not be too large, so you can get to everyone. Sometimes with company gatherings, some people will be disappointed that you didn't read for them. Do your best to apologize, without making any commitments or harsh judgments.
Finally, there are gallery type readings. You may have seen this type of readings where the psychic faces a gallery of people from a stage. If the gallery is a large audience, the reader will call upon people who are raising their hand and have a question that the reader then answers. At smaller galleries, the reader usually just goes in some sort of order around the room. At this point the reading actually turns into a one-on-one reading, except that you perform it publicly rather than privately. As a reader you have to be very knowledgeable about your craft, and not be afraid to be in front of people. There will inevitably be that one question that will stump you, but just say, “I am not sure,” or tell them you will get back to them later with an answer. People appreciate honesty.
