You don't have to be medically challenged to appreciate this book, but it helps. It is a self-proclaimed and self-effacing comedian's up & down ride through life. A story of how life's inevitable struggles sometimes make you stronger at the broken places. It's the author's hilarious memoirs, redux - first written in 2007 and now expanded in 2012. It describes his young days in Long Island City and his career at People magazine, The New York Times and MMR, Inc. He also relates his antics in school, his crazy friends, Army days, surviving cancer, dealing with retirement, many travels, and his experiences with many famous media darlings of publishing and television. It is a very lively autobiography that will not disappoint anyone with a healthy sense of humor.

Mr. Motta is an interesting guy. How do I know? I just finished reading his book, "New York Survivor". It tells of his personal journey, growing up, in Brooklyn during the 1940's through the 1960's. He describes his experiences of attending college, and his time in the Army. It was a real joy to hear about his exploits and experiences. His experiences reminded me of my life, growing up in the Bronx at just about the same time. Later, we are given an insider's view of what it is like to work for the New York Times, where he was employed for many years. This was "very cool" information. His anecdotes are happy, emotional, poignant and hilarious. The book is well written and very entertaining. I read the book from cover to cover in one sitting. It was great fun. It's a love story about his friends, family and co-workers, that we are privileged to share. This book is a worthwhile read|
This book is a collection of short stories that depict events in Author's life while she lived in Romania, then in Greece, and last in America. It's a beautiful and very sincere account of a young woman's life and comming to age.
