Wandering around and around and around. Shadows falling; tall grass swaying; dead trees standing still. The sky purple; the earth black; thick gray fog holding them together. Voices were heard, but could not be understood as faceless people could be seen, but not touched. Lying there rigid, with eyes wide open, heart pounding furiously. It felt as thought the weight of the world was on top of me. I was sweating as though I had taken a shower and had not dried myself, staring blindly out the window. I tried to move my head, my arms and my legs, to just get up or even reach my sister less than three inches away, but I could not. My heart was pounding like thunder and the perspiration was drowning my pajamas. I tried to scream, but my mouth would not open, as the words were jammed at the back of my throat. Suddenly, a chilling breeze filled the room and it became cold and acrid where it had just moments before been hot and arid. Still, I cannot move or call out to one of my sisters for help. Then, almost as if on cue, the curtains start to move and the acrid smell begins to leave. As this is happening, the weight that had me pinned down to my bed lifts itself, moving slowly rolling off my body like dough that is being readied for a piecrust. It rolled down my body starting from the top of my head down to the tips of my toes. And, almost immediately my voice came back with a loud chilling shrill, waking every body in the house.

R.C. Littleton hales from a large family raised in a small town in Western Pennsylvania. She is the proud mother of a son who has blessed her with four beautiful granddaughters. She enjoys traveling with her four grandchildren; she is an avid skier and loves word games. She holds a BA in Anthropology from Fordham University and a Master of Divinity from Drew University.
Currently she is a partner in a marketing and business development firm based in New York City.

Formerly, R.C. Littleton held the position of Secretary and a member of the planning committee for the New York Chapter of the National Association of Securities Professionals where she plays a pivotal role in putting together the annual Trustee Education Seminars. She is also a member of the National Council for Negro Women. In addition, R.C. Littleton is a former board member of the Mississippi Women’s Financial Educational Foundation Advisory Council.
R.C. Littleton is a member of the Ministerial staff at St. James AME Church in Newark, NJ and is an active member of the St. James AME Church Women’s Ministry.
