From a small church in Ontario, CA pastored by her father, Reverend Emanuel January and her mother Bertha who directed the choir is the life Rose was given.  Rose loved to go to church, and she had hopes to one day leading everyone to the Lord, and her avenue was by becoming a STAR.  She didn't care if it was through modeling, acting, dancing or singing, as long as they followed her, she was going to lead them to church in the end.

Rose started dancing on Soul Train, then went to several shows such as Cheers, White Shadows, Hill Street Blues to such movies as War Games and JoJo Dancer to being featured in magazines such as Soul Teen and Black Hollywood.  The life of stardom Rose dreamed of was coming true, but after a divorce, broken relationship, abortion and drifting from church, Rose ended up meeting Art, who was nearly twice Rose's age, a concert promoter and business man were his undercover jobs.

Art's real life surfaced shortly after their involvedment, but it was too late.  Art not only beat Rose, but did not allow her to meet work obligations on the set .  The violence escalated.  Slapped, knocked out, and was prepared to die, was the situation Rose Parker found herself in. The violence escalated and after holding Rose hostage for four days Rose's brother Peter tried to rescue Rose, but Rose grabbed the gun and shot, when the smoke cleared, her brother was wounded and Art was dead. Rose was charged with Art's murder and sent to prison for LIFE.
