One of Ms Boyett-Compo's most powerful books
This is surely one of Ms Boyett-Compo's most powerful books. A story of young love thwarted by hatred, two innocent lives manipulated by adults with their own agenda, this will tug at your emotions. Sean and Bronwyn are two immensely strong characters driven by their love for one another despite the obstacles placed in their path. A salutary tale of what hatred and suspicion can do to even the mildest and most well-meaning individual, this is an outstanding example of its genre. Be sure to get the second book in this two-part series, Blackwind: Viraiden & Bronwyn.



A classic tale of thwarted lovers
Charlotte Boyett-Compo once again does what she does best and tells the tale of two tortured lovers and a love meant to be. And yes, our beloved Reapers do make an appearance in this tale, although in the second half of the book. This adds quite a twist to the story as Sean as forced into situations and acts he does not want to do, but must in order to keep Bronwyn safe. One thing about all of Charlotte Boyett-Compo's books, I always find myself pulled into the story immediately and the action keeps going right up until the last page. Now I just have to read the next one in this series to find out what happens. As always, I highly recommend this story.

Charlotte Boyett Compo's novels are the very definition of Dark Fantasy. They are not necessarily HEA novels but reflect the intense emotions of multi faceted characters with deep and abiding love, honor, sacrifice, pain and extreme suffering but regardless of how beaten and battered, there remains a spark of humanity deep within her characters and hope burns strong in their souls. This is an intense, gripping novel, one you won't be able to put down, and I recommend you either have Blackwind: Viraiden and Bronwyn sitting beside you or have quick access to it as you won't want to wait to read the sequel.
