Norway, in the mid-9th century A.D.,was a much different country than the peaceful Scandinavian nation we know today. It was a land of many independent kingdoms and even smaller territories ruled by jarls (earls) or clan chieftains. Without a dominant authority in the region to establish and enforce rules of law many disputes were settled by violence; this was true even down to the family and individual level. No stratum of Norse society was immune from death by the sword, axe, spear or arrow. Violence was simply looked upon as an inevitable part of life.

FORCED BLOOD THE NORSEMAN is an atmospheric, blood-rousing saga of courageous men who lived and died by the sword, and of the stoic women who loved them. Set in nineth century Scandinavia the novel depics in graphic detail an often brutal society where life was precarious and uncertain.
The characters who people the novel come off the pages alive, and grip the reader with their fierce passion and courage, and their stoicism in the face of extreme hardship and adversity. The authors are to be commended.
Although I am not so much interested on the historical fictions, I would surely like to see the content in this book by Linda Perry Newton, I am sure that it is excellently written.
