THE CRY OF A PRINCESS
Once upon a time there lived a king and his five wives. He ruled happily everyone in his palace were happy except his fifth wife Adamma, Adamma didn’t have children this made her sad. The king although loved her but didn’t want to express it. He didn’t give her money to buy foodstuffs from the market she ate food always from the first wife (Gloria) who was always fond of Adamma. Many thoughts went through Adamma’s head she then thought her husband didn’t love her anymore. Days later Adamma borrowed money from Gloria to buy some things she needed. Gloria, Adaku, Joyce and Mercy (the four wives of the Igwe) went for an occasion with their maids without informing the Igwe. Later the king returned without finding his wives or maids to serve him his meal. Suddenly there was a tap at his back to his utter surprise he saw Adamma she then said “ my lord it seems your hungry I just prepared your favorite dish please come and eat”. At first the king ignored her but then he remembered how she cooked so good and then changed his mind.
While the king was eating, his wives returned and saw the king eating Adamma’s food they were all angry except Gloria she just pretended but was happy that the king has gotten a bit more closer to Adamma. When the king was true with his meal Adamma carried the plates back to the kitchen as she was on her way Adaku pounced on her which made her break the plates and told her “ so Adamma aside from being barren your taking the day I have to eat with the Igwe as yours eeeeeeee don’t worry I will show you something barren fool”. Adamma was in tears as she picked up the broken pieces of plates.
