Trigger Hippie Poetry Lover
This book by Dehejia Maat is a visual treat. The full color images on the black background make the pictures jump off of the page. I enjoyed the poetry and I'd recommend this book to any poetry and art lover. In fact it would make an awesome gift for Valentines Day!

High praise for Goddess Dehejia Maat.
This work is a delight for the senses as one's visual as well as mental senses are aroused. The poetry & artwork/photography support each other well. Both art & wordplay are the results of the artist as she has masterfully cultivated several avenues of the arts. For the moment we escape, we are captured by "Mercedes" (we want to save her too)
& it's accompaning artwork offers a place for meditation- a mandala.
I found deep appreciation for "Black, brown & yellow", which explores the theme of sisterhood- it's adjacent artwork puts us squarely facing each other as if reflecting on the themes touched upon in the poem, beckoning us as if to say, what now? In this collection of both poetry and art, one finds divinely inspired work.
