A pie can be a simple pastry embracing sweet fresh fruit or bits of flaked coconut and custard. This cookbook provides recipes for some of the most popular and unpopular pies that have ever graced an American dinner table. For years I have wanted to write a cookbook about, good old-fashioned pies, using simple ingredients. I was motivated by the song in the movie Michael, sung by Andie MacDowell and every time I bake a pie I think of that little jingle, “Pie, me-o-my, I love pie.”
