THE BUGS BUNNY SHOW
The Bugs Bunny Show was a long–running anthology series hosted by Bugs, which was mainly comprised of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons originally created in the 1940s and 50s. The show originally debuted as a primetime ABC program in 1960, with newly produced wraparound segments done by the Warner Bros. animation staff, including Chuck Jones, Friz Freleng, and Robert McKimson. The wraparounds were produced in color, but the original broadcasts of the show were in black–and–white.
This show is credited with keeping the Golden Age Warner Bros. cartoons alive. Indeed, the show ran for more than four decades, and helped inspire animators, comedians, historians, and just about anyone who was a fan of “Termite Terrace” (the nickname Warner animators had given their division).

CAP’N CRUNCH
For nearly five decades, TV commercials have made Cap'n Crunch a Saturday morning icon. When Cap'n Crunch commercials debuted, they featured three children and their dog who sailed with the Cap'n on his ship, The Good Ship Guppy, ever encountering the Cap'n's nemesis, Jean LaFoote, the “barefoot pirate.” The Cap'n Crunch cereal boxes contained small comic books featuring these characters.
These commercials were in fact mini–cartoons, produced by Jay Ward productions (famous for Bullwinkle), and containing the same off–beat humor. Daws Butler would provide the voice of the Cap'n from the 1960s until his death in 1988.
