Meridian Reflexology is a workbook teaching you a unique concept. It combines Reflexology with Kinesthetics, the blended use of Specialized Kinesiology, muscle checking and balancing and energy work. It will will teach you to use a variety of corrections, both physical and energy-based, to help a person defuse stress, pain and discomfort. These will include all forms of Reflexology, meridian work on feet and body, and many other modalities that marry well with the techniques you already know. It will relieve symptoms of dis-ease by locating and eliminating the emotional causes behind them as well as clear many issues that cause imbalance. The object of the book is to help you and your clients to achieve balance and harmony.
Meridians on the Feet Reflexology, will teach you a quick yet intense way of helping a person to correct an imbalance. That person may be a friend, a client, or you may be working toward your own health repair or health maintenance. In each case, you will be working toward personal insight while clearing a problem.
The entire first part of the manual deals with NOTICING. Notice the tops and bottoms of toes, palms, fingernails, toenails. Notice colour, odour, texture and temperature.Notice moles, warts, beauty spots and their location.Notice the colour of lips and skin. Youl will learn to interpret those irregularities.
Asking questions is the next step. Ask about what you see … and when you work on yourself, make sure that you do question, that you do not evade the question, and allow the answers to form a “design” that will point toward a specific correction pattern.
You will be learning accurate muscle-checking to determine the number of corrections, their location, the priority of corrections, the issues and emotions involved. This alone is worth the whole book! Once you can muscle-check you can ask the body all sorts of questions for its benefit! The manual is self-explanatory and full of explicit graphics. It will demonstrate a variety of correction techniques, issue choices, behaviours and emotions to rebalance.
Meridian Reflexology is a unique concept since it combines Reflexology with all forms of healing putting them all at your fingertips. You no longer need to choose which correction a client needs, this system brings them all to your fingertips, giving you the ability to find the corrections needed to help any person to regain and maintain health.

EXCERPT 1
What is Meridians on the Feet Reflexology
Meridian Reflexology will entail a completely different way of working with the body. Its purpose is synthesize all the therapies you know, plus the new ones taught in this manual in such a way as to find the appropriate correction for any individual person.
1. Observations are Essential
One of Meridian Reflexologies first roles is to improve your sense of observation so that you can assess the person even more effectively than in basic Reflexology’s Visual cues. These observations are of the feet, face, nails and meridian areas.
2. Involving the Meridians
As an example, in Reflexology, we used visual cues to ascertain that a person with callouses along the medial side of the foot probably had back, neck and shoulder involvement. Because of their walking imbalance, they probably pronated, and sent a great deal of energy along the medial side of the foot in the first zone because they walked on that part of their foot and over-energized the first zone. The lateral fifth zone received less energy, and would point to a weakness of the muscles in the outer portion of their body, meaning a weakness of the hips, shoulder joint. A Reflexology correction would point to strengthening those areas. The Reflexology emotional component would deal with a faulty support system, carrying concerns from the past and possible financial concerns
In Meridian work, callouses on the medial side point to the Spleen Meridian, and its function with both Spleen and Pancreas. The spleen, stores blood, stores iron that it removes from old blood cells. It sends the dead blood cells to the liver to be turned into bile. It is part of the lymph system, involved in training antibodies, kills bacteria and parasites. Forgetfulness and over-worry are both indicative of an imbalance in the emotional component of this meridian.
The pancreas produces glucagon and insulin daily, regulating the blood sugar level through the secretion of insulin. It also release pancreatic juice for the digestion and breakdown of fats and proteins in the duodenum. The mental or emotional factor is anxiety; the adrenal glands are the cause and there is often a problem with the ‘sweetness of life’.
From the meridian point of view, if the Spleen is over-active, the Bladder Meridian on the lateral side will be weak and the emotional involvement there is a possible lack of inner direction, a possibility of feeling controlled by others or by life’s forces and not being in charge. Also, on the physical level, there may be incontinence or cystitis or prostate problems. Note how different Reflexology and Meridian functions are. And both may be true.
3. Uses Muscle Checking to “talk” to the body
Because it uses muscle checking, Meridian Reflexology will talk to the body in its own language. It will locate the priority of concerns that the person needs to deal with at this time. It will then determine the issues troubling that person and involved with their physical well-being. Then it will find all the relative behaviours and emotions that surround and influence these issues. Still using muscle checking it will now discover the number of corrections needed, the order of the corrections, the “homeplay” required by your client to assist in their own health repair.
4. Corrections may involve the meridians themselves
Before attempting any correction, you will locate the meridian that is most out of balance in relation to the person’s physical health and emotional issues. Corrections are then chosen to readjust that meridian. A possible correction may be to draw a meridian on the feet. Another might be to draw the entire flow of meridians on the feet. And still another might be to draw or “run” these meridians on the body. Or, to touch the beginning and ends of the meridians. There is the possibility that corrections will not use the meridians in any way except to determine their imbalance, adjust them with corrections and later to check their harmonized balance.
After having made our observations, our very first step in performing a Meridians on the Feet Balance is to Muscle Check for our clients needs, issues and challenges, physical and emotional, determine the out-of-balance meridian, find the priority of corrections then perform them. So Muscle checking is our very first objective.
Yet our very first step in working with a client is to observe as mentioned. So I will start with a description of many observations.
EXCERPT 2
READING THE MERIDIANS
Any living body, be it human or animal, is a vibrant and potent energy system, in a constant state of flux. Consider that a plane is never exactly on course, but always correcting. We too, are always correcting, regaining our balance and with each motion losing it only to regain it. When you lift a foot off the ground to walk you are offsetting your self and need to rebalance to keep your equilibrium.
Health is based on our ability to quickly regain our equilibrium and on the harmonious flow of energies within and around us. When an athlete is about to trip, she will regain her balance very swiftly, while an elderly person might fall. An odour can be described as an energy that surrounds us then enters us. A good scent makes you feel good. A bad odour alerts you to possible danger – smoke/fire/danger or bad odour - don’t eat it – it is the garbage dump, cut off smell centres; or - oh, that is the smell of a specific disease. There are many energies for many functions.
Dis-ease is an interruption of this flow pattern. The pathways become congested, causing weakness in some areas and a back up or overflow in others. To understand this scenario, think of tides. When it is high tide here, it is low tide somewhere else. Tides are always flowing.
Our job in Meridian Reflexology is to return the body to its own internal sense of balance by discovering the source of the imbalances, to locate the problem(s) as a possible meridian interference and return the body to a fluid flow pattern.
All meridians either begin or end in the feet or hands – six in the feet, six in the hands. Stimulating these meridian endings or beginnings and the reflexes which lie beneath or along them will enhance your effectiveness as a practitioner and will insure durability of the correction.
In the meridian section, you can see the pathway of the meridian and also the associated reflexes or organ areas to check. Some meridians overlap or cross each other giving those points even more clout.
Use you “Noticing skills” to ascertain if what you need to correct is on a meridian or on a reflex point. This is where your muscle checking comes in to play. Muscle check for the involved meridian, for the type
of correction – meridian stroking, muscle stroking, Neuro- Lymphatic or Neuro-Vascular points, specific Reflexology corrections – on hands, feet, etc. Muscle check to find out the amount of corrections needed. Muscle check to find out if you need to correct other meridians or just the one that was out of balance originally.
Yes, at first it looks confusing, but after you try this a few times you will see how fast it goes, how permanent the corrections are and how it can enhance a Reflexology session or a Touch for Health Session by giving your client the specific correction needed.
MERIDIANS: THEIR MEANING AND HOW YOU WILL USE THEM
Meridians are formed moments after birth although they have begun their development moments after conception. They are pathways that conduct electrical activity in a specific direction on both sides of the body, flowing just below the skin and in a definite pattern. “Chi” or “Qi” is the word the Chinese use for the life force that travels along these meridians. There are series of points all along these meridians that are linked to specific organs or body functions. The meridians themselves are named after different organs and relate to the function of the organ not the organ itself. Health exists when this energy flow is in a state of balance. When there is excess or deficiency of this flow, the body in dis-ease.
All meridians begin or end on either the feet or the hands. This makes Kinetic Reflexology possible. Meridians can be used for NOTICING and for CORRECTIONS
