His eyes were nearly closed when something caught his eye. Was it the moving light of the setting sun? A shadow? It couldn’t be the sun though… Jeremiah froze and his breathing slowed, to a deep, irregular pattern. The hairs on his arms and the back of his neck stood up. Something was terribly wrong and he knew it was more than his imagination...
“What is it?” asked one of the men standing nearest to the captain. They watched as the hovering sphere slowly transformed into a thick, mist-like form and descended to the deck.
“My God…” said the captain. “It’s an abomination.”
