Started to rise slowly and
It stopped
Right at my heart
Then it hit me again and
I fought it back but
The harder I fought
The harder it returned until
That lump
Formed in my throat and I
Tried to forsake it
The harder I tried
The more
I started to lose and
I pushed so hard that
Tears
Started streaming down my face so
I gave up…

Back In Love Again
He's back...back in love, that is. Don Savant has done it again with his latest collection of poetry, Back In Love Again. Savant takes the reader through the emotional rollercoaster that is better known as love. He captures the uncertainty of love, the breathlessness of love, the actual falling head-first feeling of love. Savant's poetry is never "just words." You can feel it. He captures each heart-felt moment and releases it into a skillfully crafted scenario that any connosisseur of love (or poetry) would appreciate.
Savant's poem, "Transference," is about the deeper mental connection that lovers share. "Remarkable," speaks to a woman who has no idea that she's wonderfully beautiful. "Led By Faith" speaks to any lover's heart about waiting to find the "one" that God intended for him or her. A reoccuring theme in Savant's poetry is the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. To Savant, love is not an emotion, but a fulfilling event that touches every part of your being. From poem to poem, this interconnectedness is illustrated until the reader is filled with a newfound hope and passion for love.

His books, his writing, his thoughts are never anything short than amazing. Never letting us forget about love, Don Savant is Back in Love Again. With breaks in the poetry like an intro “Message on Love’s Answering Machine” it’s flow is just like the creative of an Album from a songstress.
With his latest project, Don Savant patiently drowns us in the roller coaster of love. My favorite poem in the entire book is “Love Note” It reminds me of the love I have for my husband and how blessed I am and how far we’ve come. I can relate to this poem from my own life and admire Don Savant for his passion in the craft of love. Wonderful, wonderful book! A must read even if you are not a fan of poetry!”
