On the Tip of My Tongue is a collection of fifteen of my recent award-winning poems.

I live in the foothills of the Ozarks among the beauty Mother Nature offers here. My poetry and prose appear in literary magazines, anthologies, and online venues. I savor the writing of poetry as an essential path to living creatively, and firmly believe the writing process grants me an excellent quality of life.

Excerpt from: On the Tip of My Tongue

PEACE

Peace is a tear on the cheek of God
we lift with love
to place on our own cheek.

Peace is the pollen on the stamen of life
we gather with hope
to place in our own heart.

Peace is the sunshine on the petal of self
we pluck with joy
to place on our own brow.

Peace is the root on the bulb of hope
we water with desire
to place in our own soul.

Excerpt

A First Love

Across the road toward a grassy meadow
in the park

For a quick game of spin the bottle

I hustle, twisting the cigar-band

Ring the neighbor boy gave me last
night as he
Sat cross-legged on my front porch

Teasing me about my red hair

Laughing at my spindly legs, my

Overabundance of freckles, my

Voluble voice and my knock-knees that

Even now brush each other as they
carry me toward first love.
