The Island Man Sings His Song is a compilation of poems that express my perspective of life in my native island, Dominica as well as life throughout the Caibbean.
The Island Man Sings His Song also tells how an island man adapts to his adopted homeland and the frustrations, the worries and fears that he faces. It also expresses my feelings for my homeland as it struggles to find itself in a developing world as it deals with economic, cultural and domestic issues.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
