Each book written by this author can be seen as a single work. The first three books are about three generations of the same family. These books could have been considered a trilogy but they were not because each can stand on its own. Burning Sunshine was the first, now Honorable Life. Look into the future for the next novel The Reverend's Daughter.
I have always enjoyed tales that were told to me from all sides of my generations. Re-live the days of oil lamps, Model T's and living off the land. Lucy noticed that getting up those stairs was the chore. The stairs were long and very, very steep. The stairway turned and then there was a large solid door at the bottom of the steps. Lucy joked of how if one fell down the steps, that door at the bottom would surely catch them before they reached the parlor. She liked these upstairs, very well, mainly because she could feel the privacy. Now she was starting to get more comfortable. Her new mother-in-law had over done everything for Lucy’s benefit, up here too. Lucy said,
“I hope your mother thinks I am still worth all of this after she has lived with me several months.”
They both laughed and James said,
“My mother loves you, the whole family loves you. What’s not to love about you, darling?”
With that he reached down and took off her high heels, then he said,
“What do you want to do now?”
Lucy looked at him with a shocked look. The jolly man broke out into a strong laughter.

Walters Book Review
I was fortunate enough to read this book before the final print. Since this author is new to the field of writing, readers should be more interested in the story itself instead of getting hung up on technical ethics. Marilyn’s writing is fast and it flows easily. I loved the amount of detail she put into her fictional settings. While Burning Sunshine was her debut novel, Honorable Life follows with that same enthusiasm. I find her work to be most intriguing. All in all I find myself anxious to read her next book.
