McDonalds made half its profit during 2003 from letting the properties to their franchisees where the restaurants operate. This means that 50% of the time they are a Real Estate company. When they are bored waiting to collect rentals the next month, then they prepare burgers for you their customers. Maybe they also are in the Toys business too because my son orders only “McToys” - meals which come with toys. Some restaurants also provide slides for kids or colourful balloons just to engage families and to be considered a place for families.
