Alex and Tom are having a wonderful school holiday until one night. Camping in the back garden on Alex's farm he hears a noise and sees something lumbering across the pasture and then it suddenly disappears. No one believes what he saw and think it is one of his dreams and his imagination. That is until the 'whatever' it is' appears again and suddenly disappears as before. Searching about the pasture desperate to find a clue to what he saw, Alex hears a noise and when he turns around Tom has disappeared. The following day another friend,Ben, also disappears. Alex has to find out where his friends have disappeared to and try and solve this strange mystery. Where this takes him is beyond belief but he has to use all his ingenuity to prove to those involved that he is telling the truth in order to be able to return home with his friends.
